Do you ever feel like there isn’t enough time to visit every destination you want to see? For those of us with limited vacation time, it can be so hard to choose! If you’re planning your next trip and need some inspiration, here are 5 destinations that are currently at the top of our bucket list.
From the mountains and beaches surrounding Cape Town to wildlife safaris, South Africa is a beautiful destination with a little bit of everything. It takes 22+ hours to get there from Chicago, but we think it would be worth it.
I shouldn’t have to say much more than tacos to convince you that Mexico is a worthy destination. But if you need more than that consider the Mayan ruins, tequila, beaches, friendly people, and museums to start with. And don’t forget that it’s cheap! I’d love to spend a few months slowly traveling through the country to learn Spanish and explore the culture.
Our friend Nori recently moved to Russia and shared some of her favorite things to do in Moscow. Russia is steeped in history, culture, and architecture, but due to it’s communist history and tense relations with the Unites States, it’s not at the top of most American bucket lists. Though as Nori pointed out, most Russians are friendly towards Americans, and we think it would be a fascinating place to explore.

In addition to so many international destinations, there is so much in my own back yard that I haven’t seen yet! I would love to take a road trip from the Grand Canyon to Yellowstone National Park and maybe all the way up to Banff National Park in Southwestern Canada. There are so many incredible parks to explore!
Everything from the food to the colorful pottery to the beautiful tiled architecture has always made Morocco feel like such an exotic destination to me. Explore the cities, relax at the beach, hike, or ride a camel through the Sahara. There’s so much to explore in this diverse country.
